Cuesta-Rey Centro Fino Sungrown (J.C. Newman) uses a Sumatra-seed Ecuador sun grown wrapper from the Quevedo region over Dominican binder and aged Dominican ligero fillers, produced in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera A. Fuente. Expect a medium-strength profile with toasty oak and cedar up front, then a warmer lane of baking spice, sweet raisin-like notes, and a lightly peppered finish. It’s a polished “sun grown upgrade” from milder Cuesta-Rey offerings—more depth and spice, but still smooth enough for an easy, repeatable smoke.
